New Medical School

On Monday, my classmates and I finally had our first class in our new medical school building! It's so nice not to be in our old building, which was so run down and was made worse by the flood last October. Since then, we have been holding class at various hospitals and schools in Honolulu. But now we finally have our own place complete with lecture rooms, patient simulated center, telecommunications rooms, library, bookstore, and a cafeteria that is run by the cooking students at a local community college. The view is also terrific; you can see Diamond Head, and we are located next to Kakaako Park which borders the ocean. See some pictures on the photos page!

How are you supposed to think about anything with a view like that??

That would be an interesting criterion for a doctor. Went to med school in Nebraska? Great, you know this guy had nothing else to do but hit the books. He must be good. Med school in Hawaii? Hmm, the beach, the surf...lots of distractions.

But you see, to us mainlanders it's, "Wow, what a gorgeous view!" To them it's just home.

LOL, that's gonna drive Gina crazy! Like when the guy ahead of us in line for a flight to Hawai`i said on his cell phone, "I'm about to leave the country." Boy, I've never seen Gina so annoyed.

Wow - quite the nice view! I have a view of...nothing...there are no windows in the classrooms at SCU Law. It makes it feel like a prison at times...hehe
