Can't wait to see these movies!

Check out this trailer for the movie about forbidden romance between a high school boy and a scientist. It was an experiment in time, but the one variable they forgot...was love.

Brokeback to the Future

And here's the trailer for the touching family dramedy about an author with writer's block who finds inspiration in family.

Oh, well then you should definitely watch the movie. It's heartwarming. Jack Nicholson at his finest.

The Shining one was brilliant, I only regret the absence of footage from the maze.

Here's a preview of a chilling stalker movie with Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan.

Rob, that one is brilliant, maybe the best of them all. Amazing how footage can be manipulated with the right editing and music, plus some overly wrought voiceover work. :)

Those were great! Of course, Brokeback to the Future had a certain advantage - more movies to work with.

Pity the creative minds who came up with the clips aren't working in Hollywood. It could use some perking up.

Here's one more. It was an entry in the same contest, but not as good as Shining.

Titanic

And the Westside Story one was great (but I can't find it).

The West Side Story guys cheated, because the rules outlawed doctoring of footage, and the only way for them to make this work was by adding weird glows to people's faces. Link

I think it all speaks to how formulaic previews have gotten - how many of them begin with "_____ _____ had it all" or "In a world where . . ."? And yet they totally shape our expectation of the actual feature.

"Shining's" use of Solsbury Hill was especially clever - that song has been used by at least one preview - most recently In Good Company.
