Atari 2600 with built-in Betamax!
Randy steered me toward my first PlayStation eleven years ago, and I was an early adopter of the PS2 seven years ago, but when the PS3 launched recently, I passed. It was too expensive for what I wanted, which was a game system, plain and simple. I wasn't going to pay a premium for a Blu-ray player that could go the way of the Betamax, the big loser the last time Sony got involved in a format war.
But it appears that the latest war is over, and this time, Sony is the winner. Time to get a PS3! And time to start buying movies in Blu-ray format.

plus the 360 has gears of war / halo3!!! guaranteed to fail you out of law school.
Oh, I won't be in the business of replacing my DVDs. Just switching to the new format going forward.
Isn't that going to drive you crazy, having movies in two different formats?
Screw you, ayeh. That kind of comment has real consequences. Now it's gonna fester...
