Lost Mysteries

I love the way Lost is unfolding this season. Announcing an end-date has freed the creators to start wrapping up story lines. But it makes me wonder if they're going to have time to get to everything. And that's assuming there's something to get to in the first place. What if some of the so-called mysteries were just things they threw out there to mess with our heads? I'll be so annoyed.

Here are some questions I want answered:
  • Why did the psychic tell Claire she couldn't give up her baby?
  • What's the significance of Hurley's numbers?
  • Why was Libbey in Hurley's psych ward?
  • What's the deal with that four-toed statue?
  • Why can't babies survive when conceived on the island?
  • Why is Walt special?
What am I missing?

I think the four-toed statue was homage to The Simpsons. It's too random, otherwise.

I think you're probably missing more than you're including. But I'm guessing in the end, some of it has to just be chalked up to "it's part of the magic of the island".

Anyway, here are some I thought of, although maybe they've been answered and I just forgot. I hate their long hiatuses:

What the frick is that smoke monster?

Why were the Others stealing children and what was their intent with them?

What's up with the whispering in the woods?

Why do things in people's pasts appear on the island?

Why is it that people are magically healed on the island?

Why is Jack such an a-hole?

What actually happened when they stopped pusing the button? The bright light that occurred is similar to the time shift stuff in the recent episodes. Did they shift in time when they stopped pushing it?

What did one snowman say to the other snowman?

Would Kate rather get with Jack or Sawyer?
